Systems Administrator

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Technology Lead position within the Technology Services Projects Team. The role is primarily focused on providing technical expertise within the Technology Services team, guiding project technology decisions and driving implementation of technology solutions into FIS Australasia projects.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the Director Technology Services FIS Australasia.
  • Provide expertise in provisioning automation including RedHat Satellite and Puppet technologies
  • Providing expertise in a variety of operating system (primarily RHEL, VMware, Nutanix and Windows Server) management including provisioning of new servers, maintenance and installation of third party products
  • Providing infrastructure technical oversight to solutions/projects
  • Providing design consideration project input including security, network, infrastructure and performance information.
  • Developing large and/or complex solutions that require analysis and research
  • Once established there may be the need for rostered On-call support for change and incidents
  • Working on projects/issues of medium to high complexity
  • knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments
  • Coaching and mentoring more junior technical staff
  • Working under minimal supervision on complex projects
  • Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to produce technical and business documentation
  • Participating in requirements definition, validation of architecture, creation and review of design
  • Wide latitude for independent judgment
  • Providing expertise in web application server software product implementations and maintenance
  • Provide expertise in the creation of network firewall rules, load balancer configuration and the ability to convert client requirements to technical specifications for our networking provider
  • Ability to engage, learn and train others in new technologies as they are included in project scope
  • Other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • 5 years' experience
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware
  • 5 years' experience
  • Strong security consideration and knowledge
  • Knowledge of storage management, TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools and technical writing principles and practices
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, installation and maintenance skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
