An opportunity for a fluent French speaker to join a heavily experienced private equity house focusing on forward-thinking investment funds in Western Africa.

Using its exclusive and extensive network of partners, the firm has established itself as a leading and trusted name in the placing of small ticket size investments, and are currently undergoing an exciting period of growth, on the verge of closing a large new fund and looking to expand their team. Investing responsibly in an area of the world with great potential and increasingly high levels of opportunity, the firm is in possession of an expansive and multi-national portfolio of promising companies across a variety of sectors.

You will be joining the firm’s offices in Paris, becoming part of a vibrant team with a profound knowledge of Africa and decades’ worth of experience in private equity investment. With over 200 companies invested in, you will be contributing to a widespread network of partners based upon the team’s extensive and detailed list of contacts.


The Role

Your key responsibilities as investment associate will help the firm adhere to its rigorous financial standards and contribute to an aim of financial, social, and developmental betterment. These include:

  • Overseeing the full process of investments within private equity in Western Africa
  • Research, quantitative analysis and valuations
  • Working in conjunction with a highly skilled team of professionals to deliver quality results
  • Coverage of the existing key clients, whilst building and maintaining a strong network within the countries of focus
  • Working closely with local partners and building relationships
  • Managing and transforming businesses within Western Africa


The Candidate

The appropriate candidate will have 5-6 years of experience in either private equity or a role closely linked to M&A, with considerable experience focusing on African-related companies or investments. A high level of insight into the importance of delivering long-term, sustainable financing in order to drive superior capital returns is crucial. Based in Paris as part of a skilled and multicultural team, the ability to speak French to a fully professional standard is essential, as is a strong interest in both private equity and African networks. An excellent understanding of the economic culture of the continent, and the risks and rewards it poses is paramount to the success of the role.
