Environment

GBIS is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. GBIS provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

The Information Technology Department (ITEC) provides and maintains IT solutions to support the business. Few years ago, ITEC launched an ambitious multi-year program to overhaul and upgrade its information system front to back. The mission of the architecture team, within ITEC, is to drive and support this program closely in collaboration with the business and operational teams. Specialized in the transformation of the IS, it requires individuals who can play a key role through their leadership and strong expertise.

The successful candidate will be part of this architecture department in Asia, and will contribute in defining and enforcing the IT Strategy in the Asia Pacific region interacting with regional and global major stakeholders.

The position is based in Hong Kong and reporting to the Head of IT Architecture team in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Mission

Main Responsibilities

The role of functional and application architect within this entity is key to translate business stakes into technology stakes and influence the organization so that it results in actual IT solutions. The main tasks are as follows, across Asia-Pacific and sometimes more globally, in close collaboration with peers from other regions:

  • Drive IT demand management in front of business sponsors and IT stakeholders
  • Coordinate studies required to launch new projects
  • Follow the strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with the functional and application target
  • Support project teams throughout the application development
  • Coordinate all architecture matters as single point of contact on major transformation projects
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of architecture standards (blueprints)
  • Identify, promote and share best practices, in terms of functional and application architecture


Profile

Required Skills

Experience
  • 10 - 15 years of experience gained in Investment Banking in a global, complex business of comparable scale to GBIS, with an equivalent position of architect or senior BA
Competencies
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills with an ability to influence and develop relationships with key partners
  • Team player; comfortable with working within a global management team with shared goals, objectives and shared solutions and strategies
  • Courage to propose fresh ideas. Pragmatic, solution driven approach. Highly motivated and team oriented
  • Good product knowledge on market and / or financing products
  • Good overall functional knowledge around deal processing (Settlement, Collateral Management)
  • Reliability and rigor
  • Good organizational and analytic skills
  • At ease in multi-cultural environment
  • IT background
  • Fluent in English
