The Incident Response Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Cyber Fusion Center by conducting rapid triage to investigate the extent and nature of compromises and provide recommendations on containment and remediation steps. This includes proper incident handling throughout the incident management lifecycle, coordination with senior level incident responders, supporting containment, remediation and recovery efforts, identifying the root cause of an incident, and effectively reporting controls gaps and failures. You will also participate in proactive threat hunting exercises, and utilize cyber threat intelligence to identify unknown threats, potential intrusions, and assist in the development of workflow automation playbooks to reduce detection and response times. You will help identify gaps in the current Cyber Defense technology stack and influence the Cyber Defense team to make improvements and ensure Cyber Defense control coverage, effectiveness and efficiency enterprise wide. You continuously enhance NIST Cyber Security maturity during critical security incidents, and your knowledge will be used to help contain, eradicate and recover from sophisticated cyber events.
For this role, we need you to bring 3 or more years of experience in Cyber Defense controls, and have an understanding of the technologies that are used within the Cyber Defense team. You'll have a high degree of technical complexity threaded throughout your experience, and be conversant thereabout. You will also bring good experience in complex global information security infrastructures, with experience in security platforms, protocols, tools, and technologies. You will also have knowledge of/experience with international compliance requirements/standards (PCI, GLBA, SOX) and other security regulation requirements.
