Primary Purpose:
Serve as the primary contact for daily operational functions for multiple branches with significant emphasis on operational excellence. Function as an informal coach while working with branch associates to improve their operational performance in order to maximize the branches sales and service effectiveness. Serve as an effective member of the regional operations team by completing operational checklists, as directed. Maintain integrity by providing operational support to branch staff ensuring effective adherence to and execution of corporate, regulatory, and audit guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing oversight and delivery of operational compliance and security training to all branch associates on an ongoing basis with intense focus on the primary branch roles.
Accountable for completing Operations Specialist reviews, as directed, to ensure assigned branches understand and adhere to corporate, regulatory, and audit guidelines.
Mentor branch associates by utilizing the Leadership and Coaching Models to assist with development of branch associate's skill level and knowledge base.
Serve as a problem resolution specialist to branch associates:
  1. Assist with client service issues/complaints to ensure resolution in a high quality and timely manner;
  2. Analyze escalated problems to identify recurring issues;
  3. Exercise independent judgment and decision-making and execute accordingly.
Provide performance feedback for the branch associates to the appropriate leadership in the areas of client service delivery, operational efficiency, and general observations.
Assist branch associates with escalated approvals for check cashing, Official Check, Wire Transfers, and other miscellaneous approvals.
Maintain current professional and specialized knowledge of bank operations, risk management, security and client problem resolution strategies and utilize this knowledge and expertise to ensure operational and risk management excellence.
Function as an operations specialist in critical areas as defined by Operations Specialist procedures.
Act as a primary contact to escalate facility issues, when necessary.
Oversee effectiveness and proper workload fit of teller scheduling via the staffing tool. Assist branch leadership with staffing issues and on-boarding of new associates.

The merger is subject to regulatory approval, and BB&T and SunTrust remain separate and independent companies until the merger closes. This position, which would be for a role with Truist or an affiliate, is contingent upon the merger receiving regulatory approval and closing.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Competencies:

Associate's degree or equivalent education and related training
Five years of banking or financial experience with previous experience as a Branch Coordinator, Branch Banker, and/or other operations-related functions
Consistent success in effective problem resolution management
Demonstrated ability to influence others in the completion of significant operational tasks and assignments
Effective interpersonal and diplomacy skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Sound decision-making skills
Specialized client service training with proven results
Sound knowledge of banking operations/compliance and bank products and services, as appropriate
Strong desire to help associates and clients resolve problems successfully
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
