The Digital Marketing Manager – Demand Generation is proficient in the development and implementation of multi-channel led generation campaigns, with a focus on paid campaign strategy, performance optimization and focused on revenue growth. The digital marketing manager serves as a subject matter expert within the Digital Marketing and Audience Engagement Center of Excellence and works primarily with the national industry and line of business practices.

As demand generation SME, they will work with DM+AE leaders and peers to ensure optimal and consistent execution and performance of demand generation campaigns. Will take an active role working with outside agencies on demand generation programs, either directly or through peer influence. This role has shared responsibility with the digital marketing team manager for digital marketing performance reporting, as well as driving demand generation innovation and results across the firm.

This is a newly evolved role with high visibility and opportunity for making a direct impact on firm growth objectives. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who works well within a highly matrixed team environment.

LOCATIONS - Prefer Charlotte, Chicago or Cleveland

Demand generation SME responsibilities include:

  • Design and execute multi-channel demand generation programs that drive conversions/lead acquisition (MQl, SQL) in key business area with the objective of driving revenue growth
  • Co-develop marketing messaging and user experiences aligned to specific audiences and buyer journeys, in collaboration with marketing, editorial and digital team members
  • Measure, analyze and report on campaign effectiveness, making and implementing optimizations and testing as appropriate
  • Provide guidance and support to demand generation peers across digital marketing and audience engagement team
    Actively monitor in-house paid search and social programs (where appropriate) and collaborate with outside agencies (more common)
  • Monitor progress against goals, inclusive of lead generation and revenue growth (provided by marketing and business stakeholders) and suggest course corrections and opportunities
  • Understand the full customer life cycle for different solutions – providing insight to and seeking feedback from marketing and sales peers on either side of the conversion point (brand awareness/opportunity development) to strengthen overall messaging and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with DM+AE, marketing analytics and data teams to provide comprehensive digital program performance reporting to marketing leadership and practice stakeholders; draws insights from these results to inform program optimization and future program design.

General digital marketing team member responsibilities:

  • Understand marketing and business objectives for aligned practices
  • Uphold RSM brand standards and marketing best practices
  • Monitor performance; make adjustments as necessary in order to achieve success metrics
  • Provide critical thinking around campaign strategy and tactical execution
  • Proactively manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Regularly participate in RSM-led digital marketing training and seek out personal professional development
  • May assist digital team lead with team/project management

Technical/Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated success with B2B digital demand generation; experience with professional services, technology/management consulting services a plus
  • Hands on experience with Google campaign manager, paid social programming and Adobe Analytics preferred
  • High sense of personal ownership in a matrix setting
  • Demonstrated critical thinking; enjoys designing and testing new approaches to achieve business goals
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and personal commitment to quality; strong project management skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Able to balance acute attention to business outcomes with a deep understanding of the audience behavior and preference
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM preferred
  • Basic understanding of Eloqua marketing automation and Adobe Experience Manager a plus

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong team player with the confidence to ask questions and offer suggestions
  • Enjoys mentoring peers in areas of expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Experience collaborating with outside agencies preferred
  • Ability to engage in technical and business discussions with marketing peers and practice stakeholders

Experience:

  • 5+ years of direct digital campaign management experience
  • Direct experience building lead generation programs that drive revenue growth
  • Experience in creating data driven, campaign content strategies aligned with lead generation and revenue growth
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple items at various stages of development
  • Experience working in a large enterprise with multiple products, services, stakeholders and decisions makers
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity to explore new ideas

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in marketing, digital marketing or marketing analytics
