We are looking for motivated and talented students who want to help us solve some of the most complex challenges in financial technology. The Global Information Security (GIS) Department is a critical component of the Technology Division and is focused on delivering a safe and secure environment for the operation of our markets.

The Technology Risk Management team, which is part of the GIS Department at CME Group, is made up of risk-oriented professionals who work with peers in GIS and across the Technology Division to ensure that Information Security risks are properly identified, assessed, adjudicated, and communicated in support of the overall GIS Risk Management program.
The team conducts tabletop, lightweight, and detailed risk assessments using CME Group's established Information Security risk management method and instrumentation. Additionally, the Technology Risk Management team collaboratively authors and edits various risk-related documents, including Risk Profiles, Risk Advisory Memos, Risk Acceptance Memos, exceptions and exemptions from GIS technical policies and standards, and other related output resulting from risk adjudication activities.
The Technology Risk Management intern will gain an unparalleled experience in understanding the role the Technology Risk Management team plays in assessing risk to the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of Technology Risk Management related functions and projects.

Key functions of the GIS Risk Management Intern:
Assistance in the analytics of Global Information Security Metrics
•         Provide trend analysis
•         Identify and highlight areas that are either improving or declining in performance
•         Assist in the generation of PowerPoint presentations detailing the metrics analysis
Dashboard creation
•         Pull GIS Risk Management data from a variety of sources and populate them in a single dashboard
•         Identify areas we can potentially load balance our team functions
•         Ensure the quality is at a level appropriate for presentation to senior leaders
Second Line of Defense Project - The second line of defense (compliance, risk management, quality, IT and other control departments) monitors and facilitates the implementation of effective risk management practices and assists the risk owners in reporting adequate risk related information up and down the organization
•         Participate in a cross functional team with multiple groups identified as part of the second line of defense
•         Work with multiple departments to improve decision making and performance through an integrated approach

Minimum qualifications:
•         Currently pursuing a bachelor's or Masters' degree
•         Studying Computer Science, business management, or a related field
•         Experience with Dashboard/Reporting
•         Experience with advanced data analytics
•          

Bonus qualifications:
•         Familiarity with regulatory and compliance practices
•         Previous internship experience with regulatory, compliance or an area subject to legislative regulation
