Sartre Group is recruiting for an Infrastructure Operations Team Lead on behalf of a leading global investment company based in Chicago. The firm is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Team Lead to be responsible for the global operations team across Chicago, London, Hong Kong, and Austin, ensuring it has everything necessary to be productive and responsive to IT engineering and the business. You'll be working with the team, ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work in fast-paced and stimulating environment at an industry-leading investment company and would suit a driven and self-directed individual.

Your role as an Infrastructure Operations Team Lead:

  • Expand a team of engineers to provide the best experience for the firm
  • Help design and enhance alert management capabilities, drive projects to reduce event noise and decrease the need for human event correlation.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure and applications via monitoring, response, and follow through on variable levels of incidents
  • Tuning infrastructure, tools and applications to send significant and actionable alerts
  • Assist in the automation of repetitive tasks
  • Resolve issues quickly for users and escalate to third parties or other IT groups as needed
  • Effectively work in a collaborative global team environment
  • Engage in technical collaboration with other Infrastructure and IT groups

 

Requirements:

  • Experience with global technical team management
  • Able to assume a “hands-on” approach when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong experience in managing incident response and driving process improvements
  • Good understanding of infrastructure hardware, software, and systems
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure monitoring platforms and tools
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring tools (Zabbix, NetXMS, Splunk, PagerDuty, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Linux commands, operating system, and basic configuration
  • Good understanding of networking technologies
  • Experience with configuration management (PowerShell DSC/ Puppet/Chef/Ansible)
  • Some experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting and automation skills
