The Platform Engineering team is a collection of highly skilled individuals ranging from development to operations with a security first mindset who strive to push the boundaries of technology. We champion a DevSecOps culture and raise the bar on how and when we deploy applications to production. Our core principals are centered around automation, testing, quality, and immutability all via code. The role is responsible for building self-service capabilities that improve our security posture, productivity, and reduce time to market with automation at the core of these objectives. The individual collaborates with teams across the organization to ensure applications are designed for Continuous Delivery (CD) and are well-architected for their targeted platform which can be on-premise or the cloud."

Responsibilities:

  • Automate provisioning of infrastructure as code, using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Provide technical oversight for projects deliverables as well as mentorship to junior team members.
  • Build self-service capabilities for development teams to improve time-to-market and promote cloud adoption.
  • Develop cloud native solutions that build efficiencies , enable scale, and empower our business.
  • Creating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Stash\Git.
  • Creating Monitoring dashboards/metrics using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Writing unit tests in Go/Python/Java
  • Work on a globally distributed team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree: Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical and Computer Engineering) Preferred, not required
  • 6+ years of application development and/or infrastructure engineering experience
  • 2+ years experience with AWS or Google Cloud
  • Experience in using DevSecOps tools & frameworks for managing infrastructure as code like (or similar to) CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Chef,etc
  • Experience working with containers, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Proficiency with Python and/or Go.
  • Experience with Java, Pearl, Ruby a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong logging & monitoring understanding using tools such as CloudWatch, ELK Stack, AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, etc.
  • Understanding of current and emerging technologies
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies including open-source and cloud native offerings
  • Proven ability to lead, make decisions, and negotiate with counterparts.
  • Experience with Elastic Map Reduce, Data Lakes, and Spark a plus
