The Security Officer 1 provides overall security for the CME facility, staff, members and visitors. The incumbent displays a basic understanding of control room and post policies and procedures including facility and perimeter foot patrol, trading floor patrol, control room operations, turnstile, metal detector and e-scan staffing. These all provide the CME with a safe and secure environment. Principal Accountabilities: • Appropriately respond and provide assistance at all emergencies and have working knowledge of CME evacuation and medical emergency procedures to provide a safe environment for all persons in CME space. • Conduct preliminary investigations of all incidents and demonstrate ability to write reports that provide basic information in a timely fashion. • Enforce rule 513 and its interpretive code to maintain a professional work environment and ensure that members, member employees and staff adhere to the rules and regulations of CME. • Professionally communicate inquiries via CME radio channel and efficiently dispatch security personnel when necessary. Monitor CME CCTV cameras to ensure a safe, secure environment. Accurately input information in the shift log. • Provide foot patrol ensuring safe a work environment of all CME space, which includes office areas, trading floors, interstitial areas and the perimeter of the CME building. Appropriately challenge unauthorized individuals or suspicious persons. • Staff turnstiles and observe each person entering the CME lobby or Trading floor ensuring proper identification and authorization for entry. E-scan all packages and parcels belonging to persons entering the lobby or trading floor to prevent dangerous weapons or explosive devices from being brought into the locations.
