Job Posting Description Marcum LLP is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our growing and well established national firm in Deerfield, IL.   The desired candidate will be an experienced administrative professional who exhibits sound judgement, attention to detail, a strong work ethic and customer orientation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support as needed to region personnel, including producing correspondence, distributing incoming mail and packages, managing outgoing mail and overnight packages
  • Complete assembly of income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and timeliness of the data.
  • Create, revise and finalize general client correspondence and engagement letters using Track Changes in MS Word.
  • Update client databases to ensure firm-wide accuracy and create specialized database reports as needed.
  • Create monthly client billing as required.
  • Complete shipping and electronic filing of client tax returns.
  • Provide occasional coverage of the reception desk, responding to and directing incoming calls, greeting visitors, etc.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Perform other administrative and/or clerical duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of professional administrative support experience in a professional services environment, preferably in an accounting firm.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Solid Microsoft Office Suite expertise, particularly in Word and Excel.  Intermediate Track Changes experience a must.
  • General electronic database knowledge.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Possesses a strong sense of urgency to complete responsibilities efficiently and accurately. 
  • Flexibility with juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Interest in learning accounting operations, growing skillsets, and taking on more responsibilities. 
  • Availability to work extra hours two weeks prior to deadlines including some weekend days (4 times a year) a must.
