Audit Manager (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts ): will work within the Company's Corporate Audit Division to perform audits of the Company's business operations in the EMEA region. This role will allow the Boston Corporate Audit team to effectively assess risk units and conduct audits that have focused on key European risks. Specific duties of the position include: executing all phases and key milestones of an assigned audit or review; working with on-site project teams in documenting audit activities in accordance with professional standards, and ensuring documentation meets high quality standards; overseeing the execution of risk and control assessments and the effective and efficient testing of key controls; reviewing documentation of audit work and conclusion of audit tests results and overall effectiveness of controls; drafting of audit reports in accordance with Division standards to clearly communicate key risks and core audit issues; working in partnership with business area management to communicate expectations and manage any project issues that may arise throughout the audit; escalating audit issues to senior management and interacting with business lines and senior managers to develop and negotiate solutions; developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of audits and assigned functions, including utilization of technology, projects, organizational activities, and systems; providing ongoing counsel, training, development, and motivation to junior staff members; assisting with audit planning and risk assessments; providing coaching and development opportunities to staff, and completing and delivering PPRs on time; developing and maintaining strong client relationships with business unit management focused on enhancing the overall effectiveness within the assigned area; and liaising with business unit management to develop solutions for unique and/or complex risk situations.
Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; and 5 years of auditing experience within EMEA region.
Must have: Demonstrated expertise of the EMEA regulatory environment and its relevance to successfully bridged the communication gap between State Street's North America and Europe offices; apply knowledge and expertise to manage projects and supervise the daily activities of assigned audit team members; delegate assignments to team members and oversee their project work and daily interactions with clients; demonstrate extensive knowledge of legal entity structure and governance of State Street Bank and Trust Co. (SSBTC) in EMEA, including the SSB International GmbH bank and its branches; advanced knowledge of European regulatory environment and provisions applicable to clients operating in and/or contracted with EMEA locations; in particular, Germany MaRisk Minimum Requirements for Risk Management, UK Client Asset Sourcebook (CASS) regulations, Irish Annex ll, Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) regulations; experience in delivering group training sessions, including: EMEA regulatory training needs as aligned to the audit plan; and department Methodology training for newly on-boarded employees.
