POSITION

This financial analyst position supports Wellington's Finance & Administration group. In 2017, the firm implemented Workday Financials as its financial management system. This position will assist in unlocking the potential of Workday and support finance through the creation of reporting and analytics, both operational and financial. The ideal candidate will collaborate with finance and IT teams to assess as well as coordinate testing of Workday's semi-annual release enhancements. This role will also assist in assessing, implementing, and maintaining other emerging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation. In addition, this position will assist in supporting core accounting responsibilities as it relates to the monthly close process, budgeting/forecasting, and year end financial statement preparation. Although an accounting degree is not required, the ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting and finance related concepts and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and data analytics to aid line mangers and senior management

  • Track, execute, resolve, and report on support and enhancement requests, in a timely and thorough manner

  • Gather requirements for strategic reporting solutions

  • Create strong business relationships with Finance and IT teams

  • Make recommendations and/or identify new solutions that lead to efficiency related opportunities and outcomes

  • Journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and reporting for Wellington's legal entities

  • Preparation of various financial statements


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years financial services industry experience highly desirable

  • Strong technology skills including report writing and data visualization tools as well as familiarity with relational databases, SQL a plus

  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting related concepts and reports

  • Experience in Workday Financials a strong plus

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a business audience as well as business concepts to a technical audience

  • Team oriented and collaborative

  • Problem solver with intellectual curiosity

  • Bachelor degree required
