Insurance Investment Actuary The Investment Actuary will be a key member of the Insurance Client Strategies team responsible for asset/liability modeling and risk management services for insurance clients. Services will include strategic asset allocation analysis, liability modeling, stress testing, VaR measurement and peer analysis. The actuary will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise risk management and financial statement models. She/he will work closely with portfolio managers and client service professionals and will interact directly with clients. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Risk Management / Economic Capital Analysis : This individual will understand the key risks of an insurance company, on both the asset and liability sides of the balance sheet. She/he will design a framework for modeling risks and correlations, including correlations between assets and liabilities, will build or identify vendor models to run the risk analysis and will design reports and communicate results. Asset Allocation Studies DFA, Efficient Frontier, Capital Adequacy: This individual will run asset allocation analysis and will build and maintain models to evaluate the impacts of alternative allocations, including tax implications, on an insurance company s balance sheet, income statement and capital adequacy measures. She/he will build stochastic and deterministic models and will work with clients and prospects to calibrate and run these models for each client s unique objectives. Liability Modeling and Duration Analysis: This individual will build liability models to forecast cash flows and to measure liability rate sensitivity that will help define custom benchmarks and assist with strategic asset allocation recommendations. Industry/Regulatory surveillance: This individual will provide insight on industry issues/changes and their potential impact on capital markets, broad asset allocations and individual client portfolios. Understanding of the actuarial, accounting, and regulatory considerations that drive investment management decision will be important. Business Development: The ideal candidate will be able to not only build and run models, but will help package and market those models. He/she will be effective in a client facing capacity and will help portfolio and relationship managers become more fluent and competent in leveraging these capabilities. He/she will also help incorporate the models and output into client reports.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, insurance, mathematics, actuarial science or related field Relevant professional designation such as FSA, FCSA, CFA or strong career Associate Minimum 5 years of experience in P&C and/or Healthcare field Experience with both asset and liability modeling Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation capabilities Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet client deadlines
