POSITION

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Workday Financials system analyst to lead and contribute to a wide variety of strategic initiatives within the Workday financials product suite. We are in the process of updating and transforming key business processes across our Workday Financials modules (Projects, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Business Assets, Financial Accounting, Cash management (banking & settlement)); developing, leading and driving this transformation will be key in this role. The Lead Analyst should have functional knowledge of Finance core business processes, strong systems analysis and support background in Workday, demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies to solve business challenges, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

This role will be responsible for implementing key projects and initiatives across the Workday Financials platform, in addition to developing a strategy for evolving the platform over time.  This will include incorporating new capabilities released as part of Workday's bi-annual upgrades into practice, enhancing the user experience (creating and implementing dashboards), and be an active voice in the Workday community

Responsibilities:
Daily activities and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the process to identify, configure and deploy various enhancements across the Workday financials product suite.
  • Partner with the business team to identify, prioritize and manage enhancements; identify and configure Workday solutions, and deploy the solutions out to Production. 
  • Develop comprehensive multi-year strategy for evolving the Workday Financials platform over time.  This would include incorporating new functionality from the bi-annual releases, active contribution to Workday community (entering, monitoring and voting on brainstorms) and identification of additional functionality that we may want to take advantage of in the future.
  • Design, configuration, re-design and/or deployment of key business processes across all financial areas
  • Perform system administration tasks, including core setup data and cross functional configurations as determined appropriate
  • Assist/support system security administration tasks, including configuration/maintenance at both the domain and business process levels, ensuring the alignment to appropriate security groups. This role will also create new user accounts, apply security roles as appropriate and perform/support quarterly audits.
  • Provide end-user support; troubleshoot defects, bugs, and other system issues via research, testing, scenario re-creation.
  • Ability to create reports and dashboards to support current and future business needs
  • Ability to contribute to security design discussions
  • Monitor various system integrations for errors, and provide basic integration issue troubleshooting
  • Define, analyze and document functional specifications for new evolving business requirements
  • Lead and/or contribute to the testing for Workday semi-annual upgrades, including the development of test plans and other supporting documentation (i.e. scripts).  Review release notes, assess new features and impacts to business processes and basic changes in functionality
  • Develop/maintain system related documentation, including development of training materials
  • Provide direction and guidance to vendors and other employees


Qualifications:
  • 10+ years' experience in a systems role supporting Corporate Financials applications, possessing a strong knowledge base of core business processes
  • Experience working with externally hosted and managed solutions is required
  • 1-3 years of experience with the Workday financials platform is preferred (Workday certification a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, taking initiative and/or lead role as necessary
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities is required as is professional maturity with regard to handling of confidential information
  • Bachelor's degree required, a major in Computer Science, or related field is preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL and/or relational database technology required.
