Sales Engineer, Assistant Vice-President
Position Summary

Gain a bird's eye view into State Street and everything we do for prospects and clients. Sector Solutions Sales is charged with driving revenue growth and profitability from new prospects and existing State Street clients. The role of the Sales Engineer is to work in the assigned team to support the sales executives in these efforts where the Sales Engineer will carry a sales quota relative to target segment at the appropriate level given experience. This opportunity provides exposure to a wide range of individuals, products and businesses around the corporation. The Sales Engineer will assist assigned sales team or sales lead in achieving sales target goals by providing sales and new business development support functions across the entire sales cycle. In addition, this role will be developed to provide the incumbent with skills to develop into a more senior sales position. Role includes prospecting, researching, preparing presentations, fee preparation, responding to prospect and salesperson requests/needs in a timely and accurate fashion and providing management/oversight of sales related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Strategize with assigned sales team and senior management to determine yearly sales targets/prospects
  • Identify key opportunities and track progress against goals set
  • Work directly with the assigned sales team or sales lead to identify prospect/client solutions
  • Early involvement in the sales process is key and will provide greater insight to identify prospect/client needs and solutions
  • Sales presentation creation and composition
  • Coordinate multi-divisional and sometimes geographic "Deal Teams" in support of all new business development activities
  • Prepare fee schedules and all economic analysis associated with deals
  • Assist in preparation of Cover Letters, Executive Summaries and RFPs
  • Provide backup and serve as an in-house resource to sales team or sales lead
  • Manage internal sales effort
  • Able to assist with and respond to requests for information from prospects/clients
  • Provide oversight of projects/deals currently underway
  • Assist with pro-forma draft for evaluation
  • Follow warm leads delegated by salesperson
  • Research prospects/clients
  • Assist in synthesizing and summarizing competitor analysis
  • Help track deals through various internal and cloud-based tools
  • Manage high-level projects requested by sales team
  • Maintain and grow relationships with internal departments, support staff and site offices that support the sales process (SME's, RFP team, presentation team, etc...)
  • Ensure adequate office coverage in relation to vacations, sick days, absent team members, etc.

Skills & Experience
  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of successful sales experience
  • Financial services background and experience,
  • Time management and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills along with a high level of professionalism
  • Proven ability/process of accurate pipeline management from initial lead to close
  • Ability to work within a collaborative environment to achieve results
  • Ability to manage projects / assignments to meet tight deadlines
  • Potential opportunity for business travel
