What you will be responsible for
As Platform Engineer you will
  • Design, and implement robust platform services such as Kafka, Database As a Service on top of Kubernetes and Docker. Services must meet High Availability, Observability, Scalability and Maintainability standards set forth by the team
  • Develop, deliver, and maintan high quality implementations
  • Collaborate with other developers on the team and with other organizational entities within State Street
  • Maintain documentation to describe functionality, configuration, testing and changes as applicable
  • Anticipate failures in production and create runbooks ahead of time to self-repair

  • Strong background of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
  • Taking Ownership, Problem solving, and working Collaboratively are important skills in this role
  • Language proficiency in Java or Python or GoLang on Linux/Unix platform

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • A degree in computer science or equivalent experience acquired on the job. A minimum of 3 years of industry experience is required
  • Working knowledge on at least one cloud provider - AWS or Azure or Google Cloud
  • Experience with design and implementation of large scale systems using one of preferred languages
  • Knowledge of SQL, Data Warehouse, Scripting, CICD, Observability is a plus
  • Any one or more of the following:
    • Amazon AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
    • Amazon AWS Certified Developer certification
    • Amazon AWS Certified SysOps Administrator certification
    • Amazon AWS DevOps certification
