Fidelity Investments is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join their growing Partnership Tax Compliance and Reporting team. The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting or Business; Masters in Taxation and/or CPA preferred
  • 2-4 years of tax experience, preferably with large public accounting firm
  • Working knowledge of federal and multi-state taxation of flow-through entities with an emphasis on venture capital, and private equity investment structures
  • Understanding of foreign disclosure analysis and compliance regarding various foreign investment vehicles
  • Familiar working with Excel, Corptax, Sage

The Purpose of Your Role

This position will focus on partnership domestic and international tax compliance and reporting obligations and plays an integral role in driving the internal work flows and processes which are critical to our tax compliance function. This position will work closely with the tax team members as well as other key support functions and business units to provide tax reporting to partners and insure that all federal and state tax filing requirements are met.

The Value You Deliver
  • Analyzing and review of federal book/tax differences for quarterly estimate and annual workpapers and corresponding federal, and state partnership tax returns
  • Preparing K-1 footnotes and foreign information reported to partners
  • Assisting in implementing various process improvements connected to federal and state compliance
  • Preparing tax provisions
  • Researching federal and state tax issues
  • Assisting in responding to questions from business units and outside tax advisors
  • Responsible for various Tax depreciation reports used for tax compliance and reporting

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

Fidelity's Corporate Tax Group provides comprehensive federal, state, local, and international tax services to FMR LLC (including its subsidiaries and affiliates) and the Devonshire Investors/Pembroke-advised entities. The Corporate Tax Group is responsible for:
  • Tax planning and tax compliance services
  • Managing examinations by federal, state, local and non-U.S. tax authorities and controversies arising therefrom
  • Preparing estimates to support tax distributions to FMR LLC shareholders and related information reporting to the members of the investor entities
  • Managing financial statement accounting for income taxes and monitoring proposed tax legislative and regulatory developments
