As a Tax Manager within the Business Tax Services group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. You will work directly with the client, manage the tax staff, have access to a strong support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career.

As a Tax Manager within the Business Tax Services group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. You will work directly with the client, manage the tax staff, have access to a strong support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Advanced degree, such as Masters of Tax (MST) or JD preferred

  • Big-4 public accounting experience; CPA or further designation preferred

  • Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research

  • Solid understanding with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740

  • Excellent research and writing skills

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills

  • Strong management experience

  • Able to travel up to 25%


Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.

  • Advising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, FTA (periods, methods & credits), tax provisions, tax compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy.

  • Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

  • Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.

  • Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.

  • Manage preparation of the Company's federal, state, local and international income and indirect tax returns.

  • Manage tax related audits and respond to notices issued by tax authorities.

  • Oversee maintenance of the Company's tax calendar to ensure the Company is compliant and in good standing in all jurisdictions.

  • Manage the tax account reconciliation process to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Assist with timely preparation and/or review of the Company's quarterly and annual tax provision and financial statement disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.

  • Assist with the development of global tax planning strategies, including analytical work related to mergers & acquisitions, effective tax rate calculations and projections.

  • Perform research and prepare memorandum on various aspects of U.S. and international tax matters and monitor changes in tax law.

  • Identify opportunities and develop new policies and process improvements related to the tax compliance function.

  • Act as a resource to other functional departments of the Company seeking tax advice.
