A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

The Disclosure Specialist is responsible for monitoring the timely disclosure of all initial disclosures and change of circumstances within Encompass, in addition to the initial Closing Disclosure. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, mitigate potential liabilities and help avoid penalties, sanctions or other legal action. Provide guidance to management when errors or discrepancies are identified and revisions to any policies and procedures along with responding to questions relating to those policies and procedures

This is a remote, work from home opportunity. 

Primary Accountabilities

  • Verify that that required accurate documentation are in file that are needed to disclose.
  • Communicate, as point of contact, with Private Mortgage Banker (PMB) on any disclosure related question
  • Prepare a lending estimate with each new loan application
  • Prepare and send the initial disclosures or Pre-RESPA package in accordance with procedures
  • Prepare an updated set of disclosures whenever there has been a change of circumstances
  • Makes recommendations regarding more efficient methods and procedures; prepares interdepartmental reports documenting procedures and examinations performed, as well as audit results and expressing opinions as to the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; submits detailed reports and discusses various exceptions, findings, recommendations and progress with department head for final determination; and may present reports
  • Communicate with title companies to gather information for accurate CD preparation
  • Prepare an initial Closing Disclosure in accordance with prescribed timeframes and procedures. Implement company processes during disclosure process for highest level of customer service.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee will view, have access to, and work with confidential financial data. The employee in this position must adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures.

  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments in a positive and professional manner
  • Experience with heavy customer or loan officer interaction
  • Mortgage operations experience

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working on FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA programs and guidelines, as well as those of other conventional investors, state/local bond programs and private mortgage insurers
  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage lending / closing role, able to take on production or workflow oversight
  • 1+ years of operating proficiently as a Closing Coordinator 2 or equivalent
  • A minimum of experience in CD and Loan estimate review

Language Ability

Ability to read/comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one/small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Mathematical Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
