A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

The Senior Operations Audit Analyst will be responsible for working with leadership and associates throughout the loan fulfillment Operations division to review, analyze and evaluate our current processes looking for ways to improve the process through audits, workflow, reporting, automation and technology. The role is integral to the evaluation of loan performance by performing and analyzing in-line and post close audits as well as assisting in determining corrective action to mitigate risk and the adequacy of procedural support for operation (i.e., training information, job aids, desk reference materials, etc.).

Primary Accountabilities

  • Review and analyze operational policies, procedures, process improvements technology enhancements, reporting and controls throughout loan fulfillment operations.
    • Assess testing results: summarize and report testing results; and track outstanding issues.
    • Verify exception findings and business unit rebuttals are entered in the QA system of record.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and the business unit to establish effective communications with relevant personnel on a variety of topics including (e.g., testing requirements and frequency, changes in internal processes and risks, root cause identification, recommendations for corrective action).
    • Prepare internal and external business correspondence, reports, reconciliations.
    • Determine potential needs and works with clients (internal and external) to identify changes and improvements to the functionality and efficiency of processes.
  • Perform project management activities (meet project deadlines and schedules, prioritize tasks)
  • Verify and validate the loan processes complied with applicable regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.
    • Develop solutions to eliminate pain points and risk in the processes based on QA and QC findings
    • Identify gaps in internal control effective effectiveness; formulates appropriate testing procedures to evaluate those controls and processes
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

  • Ability to identify risk when conducting audits.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Three (3) to five (5) or more years of Mortgage Backing experience

 Preferred:  

  • Documented mortgage loan job experience required. Previous auditing, quality assurance experience required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel Required

It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.

Language Ability

Ability to read/analyze/interpret business periodicals/ journals/technical procedures/gov. regulations; write reports/business correspondence/procedure manuals; effectively present information/respond to questions from managers/clients/customers/public.

Mathematical Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
