  • Overview

    FMI is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to automate and streamline data collection, cleansing, and reporting efforts for the flagship “dashboard” that our consultants use for their day-to-day responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for learning about the construction industry and how FMI can influence the future success of our clients and the industry. This is a full-time position requiring 10-20% travel, and will be based in our downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, corporate headquarters.

    Responsibilities
    • Creating, maintaining, and improving a web-based data collection mechanism to replace spreadsheet data capture
    • Creating, maintaining and improving analytical tools and processes (Tableau, Alteryx, Python)
    • Making API calls and create ETL pipelines connecting a data collection mechanism to the MySQL database, as well as pull/put data into Salesforce, Qualtrics, Box (file management) and Tableau Server, all within an AWS-hosted environment
    • Leading quantitative and qualitative analysis efforts to support client engagements
    • Interacting with others at all levels across a client organization, including senior-level executives
    • Overseeing multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously; leading work streams on client engagements
    • Ensuring superior customer service through follow-up, client responsiveness and customer-focused communication
    • Performing other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited top-tier college or university in business, finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science or another related field
    • 0-2 years of professional work experience
    • Advanced knowledge of data analysis concepts, practices and procedures
    • Understanding of basic financial statements
    • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
    • Business intelligence software experience in Tableau and Alteryx preferred
    • Python programming experience for task automation, API calls, data modeling, ETL pipeline development
    • MySQL Database experience (querying, monitoring, optimization)
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to relate results to overall project goal(s)
    • Ability to provide creative, unique and effective approaches to problem solving
    • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Ability to work independently, perform well under pressure and adapt to change
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
    • Maturity, integrity and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, both individually and as a team player
