Senior Kubernetes Engineer - DataHub Team
The DataHub Engineering team provides a distributed platform for hosting datasets, complete with managed data stores, search, discovery, batch analytics and real-time stream processing capabilities. Our goal: ensuring high quality content, which is the life blood of financial markets, is cataloged, standardized, discoverable, distributed and accessible in one place. The platform offers low latency, high availability data stores, pipes, stream processing, real-time change data capture, distribution and discoverability services. That's where you come in.

You are curious, kind, continually learning, and happy to share what you learn. You enjoy pursuing complex issues to their root cause. You are proficient in systems engineering and have production experience with Kubernetes.

What's in it for you:
As a Kubernetes engineer in DataHub team, you will be responsible for customizing K8S to host DataHub and the diverse workloads the platform needs, like Spark, Kafka based dataflow processors, application lambdas, service mesh and batch frameworks. Partnering with the Managed Compute Infrastructure team, you'll contribute to company wide K8S infrastructure while building, managing, scaling and enhancing K8S run-time for DataHub. Objective is baremetal K8S clusters, high scale, elasticity and efficiencies. You would also have opportunities to contribute to Kubernetes and other open source projects.

You'll need to have:
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Linux systems, networking, distributed systems
  • Proficiency in one of Linux kernel subsystems, TCP/IP, BPF, performance engineering
  • Good understanding of container run-time, and any one of: K8S, Mesos
  • Experience in software instrumentation for monitoring and observability
  • Experience with automation, idempotent deployments testing, continuous delivery pipelines, and documentation
  • BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field
