Role Overview

The Head of Business Development Wealth Management Americas role will be located in New York and will report to the WM Americas COO, with a dotted line into the Head Office team in London. There will be a team of 2 directly reporting to this role. You will own and lead the process of defining the overarching strategy of WM Americas in-line with the group strategy. They will be expected to support business growth through directing and managing business development activities and making sure these are delivered in accordance with the global priorities. You will be a guest member of the WM Americas Council and represents WM Americas in divisional / group-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of identifying potential growth opportunities
  • Support the enablement of sales / revenue generation across the region
  • Drive new business opportunities, share successes and best practices
  • Drive and ensure coherence of vision, strategy, financial planning and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure alignment of the business model to the strategy and vision
  • Assess implications of the external environment on the business model
  • Monitor competitor and industry developments
  • Help address road blocks to key transactions
  • Manage and develop team of two professionals
  • Collaboration across functions and regions

You will have:

Several years of experience in a comparable senior management role with a clear focus on Strategy / Business Development within a sizable financial services company combined with the strategic skills of a former top management consultant (pre-Partner level) of a leading consulting firm

  • Knowledge of the banking industry, especially Wealth Management, is a must
  • Comfortable in closely working with senior management
  • Proven track record in analytical problem structuring, solving and synthesis (story lining)
  • Above average university degree in a relevant area, e.g. Business Administration (MBA)
  • Language skills: Fluency in English is a must
  • Knowledge, experience and technical expertise

  • A background in financial services strategy is advantageous; Critical is a strong understanding of financial institutions and financial markets, the changing strategic, regulatory and competitive environment and potential impacts on the industry
