Group Description:

The External Reporting/Consolidation group works on the quarterly earnings release, the 10-Q/10-K, EPS and share count calculations, global equity roll-forward, preparation of monthly senior management reports and maintenance of the global balance sheet reconciliation system. The team is also responsible for the consolidation of BlackRock’s books and records.

Job Description:

The group is looking for an Associate with consolidation and multicurrency operational experience and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, drive efficiency and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Based in New York, the Associate will be responsible for consolidating BlackRock’s books and records, assisting in Corporate merger and acquisition initiatives as well as UAT associated with system upgrades and ledger builds as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

Coordinate HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) daily processing Global Balance Sheet Consolidation Process Validate equity consolidation and elimination for all BlackRock legal entities Cumulative Translation Adjustments Review – between foreign currency books Coordinate and update intercompany relation changes between BlackRock entities Assist with executing purchase accounting associated with external acquisition(s) and internal re-org(s) Test and implement new Oracle ledgers as needed Assist in system upgrade UAT as needed Strong verbal and written communication skills required for heavy interaction with global BlackRock peers

System Requirements:

Oracle G/L Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Microsoft Excel Microsoft World Power Point

Skills/experience requirements:

  • BS Accounting (MBA a plus)
  • Minimum 7-10 years finance/accounting experience in finance service industry, with a track record of strong performance
  • 2 to 3 year public accounting experience is preferable
  • Demonstrate problem-solving quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and rigor
  • Self-starter, quick learner, team player with desire to take on responsibility
  • CPA is a plus but not required
