Description:
The COO of Equity Linked Technology (ELT) is on the ELT senior leadership team and owns the key processes across the 200+ person equity linked technology organization enabling the group to execute successfully. The role requires implementing workflows, policies and procedures across a number of areas including: business management, communications, strategy, human capital, risk and control, and PMO. Through successful management of processes and incoming requests, the COO provides operating leverage to the global head.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Equity Derivatives business including the Head of Equity Derivatives Platform (MDR) and ensure the proper functioning of resource, project status and financial reporting. The role will lead the central PMO team and work closely with the Equities Technology COO team.

ELT is the primary technology provider to BAML's Equity Derivatives franchise but is also the horizontal technology provider of risk and position management services for Equities as a whole. Its services include: Risk and PnL, Parameter Management, Investible Indices, Reference Data and Lifecycle, Trade Management and Post-Trade. ELT has staff on 3 continents, 6 countries and 7 locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct support to Global Head of Equity Linked Technology including support to deliver critical objectives
  • Design and Management of Risk and Control processes and responsibility for execution of risk and control remediation portfolio. Manage engagement with auditors and regulators
  • Business Management: operational responsibility for accurate resource forecasts, budget forecasts and all required reporting; location strategy; design of controls to ensure the accuracy of this information
  • Communications: drive internal and external organizational communication ensuring alignment of staff to strategy and understanding of strategy by clients. This includes

    • Offsites
    • Newsletters
  • Human Capital: drive talent management processes, hiring and staffing strategies and execution
  • PMO: there is an emphasis on accurate and timely project and resource status reporting, change management;
  • Production and collation of strategic materials across the breath of functional activities

Required Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience executing a portfolio of technology work in excess of $30mm p.a.
  • 10+ years of industry experience
  • Firm grasp of project financials (budgeting, forecasting)
  • Expertise in preparation strategic communication materials
  • Solid analytical mindset with attention to detail and great ability to drive teams to achieve outcomes
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders
