The Internal Audit Department plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the bank's control framework, seeking at all times to deliver insightful and value-adding audits that help improve the way the bank runs its business. We are currently seeking an extraordinary individual to take on the role of credit risk internal auditor - VP level role. This role has a focus in participating in audits on a global basis.
  • Ideal candidate will have a fundamental knowledge of Leveraged Lending Credit gained from experience as a Credit Officer reviewing and approving Leveraged Finance transactions or through several years of specialization within Internal Audit
  • In addition, the candidate will demonstrate deep understanding of the Interagency guidelines on Leveraged Lending
  • Maintaining subject matter expertise including: standard methodologies, regulatory requirements and key control processes
  • Lead audits from start to finish, including developing the specific audit program and assigning roles and responsibilities to audit team
  • Responsible for monitoring audit budget and ensuring relevant audit metrics are met and communicating issues as appropriate
  • Review and assess Basel regulatory compliance to ensure all relevant Basel requirements are met
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of subject matter relating to credit risk measurement and management, including review and assessment of credit risk regulatory compliance across the various jurisdictions and associated regimes
  • Participate in QA of self-assessments covering policies and procedures framework for credit risk against regulatory provisions for: Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) IV, Basel III and CCAR relating to Counterparty Credit Risk
  • Participate in the delivery of audit plan relating to processes and measurement approaches to ensure the use of sound risk management controls and regulatory compliance
  • Assist the Head of Audit in executing programs of continuous risk and performance monitoring (e.g. business developments, emerging risks and control issues)

You Offer
Typical activities of an Internal Auditor will include:
  • Participation in global audits of the Credit Risk Management or Counterparty Credit Risk Management functions
  • Completion and documentation of assigned audit work within budgeted time constraints
  • Advise senior audit management of ongoing issues
  • Liaise and direct the global audit team in the execution of risk audits during the audit
  • Raise, draft and clear audit observations with partners
  • Draft and prepare audit reports for final clearance and delivery with senior Internal Audit management
  • Ideally a combination of at least 2-3 years with Internal Audit combined with 5-7 years of direct Credit Risk experience or extensive experience with Internal Audit specializing in auditing Wholesale Credit Risk
  • Familiarity with FINMA / PRA requirements on top of FRBNY requirements preferred
