The Private Funds Group ("PFG"), is responsible for the fundraising of third-party capital for Brookfield's global private funds. PFG is currently a 110+ person global team , growing rapidly and seeks to add a Director, Business Solutions to their team. The role offers a dynamic environment with significant career growth and advancement.

Position Summary

Director of Private Funds Business Solutions, is a new position at Brookfield Asset Management (BAM). The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing solutions to create a competitive advantage for BAM's private funds' business. Frequently, solutions will involve technology, data governance, or process efficiencies to existing procedures. The position will report into the head of Business Solutions. The successful candidate will be a savvy professional who compliments his/her business skills and experience with a technical/financial skillset in the asset management sector. The candidate will have a broad range of experience and skills in operational strategy development, technology-centric analysis, and enterprise implementation. This position is suitable for candidates who thrive in a performance-driven environment that emphasizes employee leadership and accountability for delivering results.

Strategy and Planning
  • Participate in the strategic development of the asset management business solutions roadmap for BAM, with a focus on private funds capabilities and offerings in the marketplace
  • Identify and articulate opportunities to create a competitive advantage for BAM's private funds' business via technology enabled solutions and process efficiencies
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to define and document key business problems and objectives, and identify potential solutions
  • Lead the development and implementation of business solutions focused on data strategy and governance
  • Provide recommendations, through leveraging data and statistics, to guide prioritization decisions
  • Consider the big picture including how systems and/or processes should integrate to drive automation and efficiency

Communications and Collaboration
  • Effectively run meeting with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams driving projects from ideation to launch
  • Champion of best practices
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements to non-technical professionals in a simple manner

Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree/college diploma or equivalent ideally specializing in Business, Finance, or Technology
  • 8 + years of experience working in finance or technology
  • "Hands-on" professional, with ability to see big picture
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, and balance multiple priorities
  • Help facilitate change through understanding requirements and building consensus
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative' self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High ethical standards

Desired Experience:
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Experience in Alternative Assets/Private Funds
  • Familiarity with Agile processes
