Issuer Services, which includes Corporate Trust and Depositary Receipts is a global leader in both businesses. BNY Mellon's Corporate Trust business services $11 trillion in total outstanding debt for clients, providing administration and management services for all major debt categories across conventional, structured finance and specialty debt. BNY Mellon also acts as a depository bank for more than 1,000 issuers from 64 countries and accounts for a 57 percent share of sponsored programs.
The Corporate Trust business delivers a full range of issuer and related investor services, including trustee, paying agency, fiduciary, escrow and other financial services. It is a leading provider to the debt capital markets, providing customized and market driven solutions to investors, bondholders and lenders.
The Depositary Receipts business drives global investing by providing servicing and value-added solutions that enable, facilitate and enhance cross-border trading, clearing, settlement and ownership. The Chief Operating Officer, Issuer Services, works closely with the CEO to run the business on a day-to-day basis. He or she will be a recognized leader in the issuer services business community or from a related business. He or she will be will have a key role in the development and execution of the issuer services business strategy. The successful candidate will be an effective influencer and listener who will work closely with other BNY Mellon Executive Committee members. He or she will also attend the majority of monthly business reviews with the CEO and CFO. He or she will also work closely with the sales and relationship management teams to drive revenue and grow wallet share. He or she will manage, track and align global programs across technology, risk and operations and will be expected to represent the company in various public forums and with clients.
Critical management responsibilities
Works closely with the business CEO on day to day running of global business
Regular interaction with other BNY Mellon Executive Committee members
Attend IS Monthly Business Reviews with BNY Mellon CEO and CFO
Ability to work with (and influence) the Sales and Relationship Management teams
Represent IS & BNYM in various marketplace venues and media outlets
Lead IS social media content in order to raise BNY Mellon's profile in the marketplace
Ability to represent BNYM & the IS business from a regulatory perspective
Manage global PMO, TMG, and Risk teams
Inform on global footprint strategies and decisions
Manage, track and align global project resources to deliver anticipated outcomes
Serve as Chairman of the IS Technology Prioritization Committee
Ensure clear accountability on all major programs
Represent IS interest and participation on all Corporate Enterprise Programs (i.e. technology risk and resiliency)
Work closely with Head of Product & Strategy to ensure project deliver on IS strategy
Identify new opportunities for product development as well as opportunities to enhance current product offerings
Execute Document Custody strategy to future desired end state
Manage TMG, Default Services and Onboarding (KYC/AML)
Implement a globally consistent, client focused and efficient TMG organization
Work closely with Client Service to ensure a seamless transition of work
Properly align with Sales and Relationship Management functions
Ensure IS meets all BNYM standards for timely and accurate completion of all KYC/AML requirements
Work closely with other functions to create process improvements and operational efficiencies
Risk and Business Processes
Ensure that the business operates, grows, and changes within the policies, procedures and established firm-wide metrics
Manage the timely completion of all Risk Mandated Frameworks, includes representation on BNYM committees
Successful management of all Business Continuity Incidents
Timely execution of all audit related actions/commitments Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. Typically requires 15+ years of total work experience and 5-7 years of management experience preferred, preferably in Business Development or a customer-facing role.
