This position is responsible for the overall leadership and effective performance of the Program Management Office with accountability to deliver consistent, high quality projects, programs and handle the IT portfolio. This position will watch over the IT Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organizational goals and requirements. Leads and directs project management staff and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
This position also defines, trains, implements and carries out all core Agile processes for the IT organization. Where these processes and IT programs/projects overlap with senior leaders and their organizations outside the IT organization, this position will be accountable for ensuring effective relationship building and program/project execution. This way the tactical inputs and outputs from the IT organization meet expectations of all key stakeholders, including each of the Executive Committee Members and their directs. In essence, this person is responsible for ensuring a strong, effective and successful IT execution engine.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct and be accountable for the overall performance of the IT PMO team in the delivery of the portfolio
  • Lead, direct and be accountable for all core Agile processes, their implementation across all IT teams and where there is overlap with organizations outside IT
  • Develop and handle comprehensive project portfolio, budgets, resource allocations, and costs with overall accountability for portfolio performance (key performance indicators and metrics).
  • Establish and facilitate effective project management governance, oversight and prioritization evidenced by a fluid, consistent track record of execution by the IT organization
  • Be the center of tactical communication and leadership by setting up a cadence of communications, reviews and meetings that keep all IT teams and their partners on the same page tactically
  • Be the center of tactical conflict resolution, ensuring top quality and on-time delivery based on a prioritization mandate crafted together with the executive committee and product management leaders
  • Create tactical program roadmaps, ensure interdependencies are clearly identified, handle and assist in timely resolution of interdependency conflicts.
  • Apply risk management assessment in project planning / ongoing execution and resolves issues and conflicts associated with management of multiple complex high-priority projects.
  • Drive continuous improve by applying lean analysis and optimization to Agile processes, ensuring year-over-year improvements in quality, velocity and results
  • Lead project management team, establish performance expectations and standards, serve as a role-model and provide leadership direction to PMs throughout project lifecycle
  • Provide weekly, monthly and annual reports as a part of the communication strategy
  • Create organizational credibility with respect to all project management deliverables and process efficiencies by instilling the culture of execution, operational excellence, and accountability for outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of Program/Project Management experience
  • Strong financial management capabilities
  • Experience with technology projects and business application releases
  • Enterprise level Program and Project Management portfolio management expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with validated ability to influence at all levels and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of contending interests and limited resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills complemented by solid business and technical background, and keen interest in business operations, process improvement, and change impact.
  • Expert problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
