Project / Portfolio Mgmt (Technology Management)

This Intermediate role will support one of the Practice Areas within Operations Technology and be the lead PMO for that area. The role will have a dual reporting line into the COO for Operations Technology and the Practice Area Head. Specific duties include but not limited to:

Organizational Governance:
- Establish and maintain the portfolio/program/project structure that aligns our delivery with our organizational goals
- Optimize stakeholder engagement to facilitate effective program control
- Participate in definition of organizational controls, standards and toolkit; plan and execute rollout
- Manage compliance across all processes, develop process improvements and process strategy
- Provide administrative and reporting support to the India regional management office
Delivery Management:
- Monitor and facilitate execution of lifecycle control procedures by delivery managers (DMs), ensuring that delivery status is tracked and communicated and issues managed to resolution
- Develop Ops Tech?s delivery management capability through mentoring and training of DMs and providing performance feedback
- Manage process evolution across all activities
- Evaluate and enforce process adherence and data quality

Resource Management:

- Monitor project resourcing to ensure optimal resourcing of work demand within applicable budget parameters
- Maximize effective use of resources through tactical resource prioritization and strategic workforce planning
- Optimize delivery performance by establishing group goals and KPIs
- Creating new position requisitions and supporting recruitment efforts

Financial Management:

- Plan and execute budget planning, maintain an accurate forecast of all prioritized Ops Tech costs.
- Track actual spend vs budget and ensure all variances are acknowledged and have documented approval
- Monitor and enforce complete and accurate time recording
- Manage vendor and client billing and allocations
- Manage system billing and allocations

Risk Management:
- Provide a rigorous process for review and management of significant delivery risks
- Ensure all material risks and issues at all levels across the group have documented management actions and are tracked to resolution, with full visibility at the appropriate level

Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and implement an engagement plan that effectively involves internal and external stakeholders in achieving our delivery objectives
- Maintain and continuously improve group communications channels

- Establish and apply standards for defining measurable business benefits for all projects
- Maintain classification of benefits and linkage to Firm strategy
- Track and communicate realization of benefits

Skills Required:
- Self-disciplined, resourceful and self-starting
- Proven ability to assimilate rapidly into a complex, dynamic environment and quickly become independently productive
- Excellent client skills; demonstrably able to build effective relationships with a range of technology and business stakeholders at different levels of seniority
- Accurate, tenacious and delivery-focused with an eye for detail and design
- Prior experience of performing a Project Management/PMO role in a multi-workstream, multi-location technology environment
- Previous Financial Services experience, with a strong preference for Investment Banking exposure
- Excellent written and oral reporting skills; experience of presenting to senior management (Managing Director level) forums
- Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills
- Working knowledge of financial management concepts

Skills Desired:
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle; able to describe at least one standard development methodology
- Working knowledge of iterative/agile methodologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and MS project
- Familiarity with workforce management
- Familiarity with communication/engagement planning
