My client is a leading top 10, high-frequency proprietary trading firm, who are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer of Operations to join their Product Engineering team. This team is responsible for using cutting-edge technologies to develop innovative processes and tools for the operation of high-frequency trading platforms. 

 

You will get the opportunity to join a team of top Developers/Engineers, and have the chance to take ownership for the work you do whilst learning from your peers. You will get the chance to use modern technologies such as Golang in a professional working environment. You could be working for another financial institution or outside of finance, with a keen interest to join the financial industry.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Creating and expanding in-house tools, and helping to develop an agile framework that adapts quickly to evolving requirements
  • Playing a key role in projects to automate production environment by developing innovating applications
  • Liaising with and supporting other technical teams
  • Building software to collect, analyze, and visualize large amounts of data
  • Identifying opportunities to use technology to solve trading infrastructure management challenges

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 5 years of work experience in a Linux environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Fluency in at least one backend programming language (preferably Golang or equivalent)
  • Experience contributing to large distributed applications
  • A background with HTTP servers, caching, and building web services
  • Exposure to systems and/or network automation, monitoring, and alerting
  • Knowledge of message queuing or distributed messaging frameworks (preferred)
  • Familiarity with time series data storage and analysis (preferred)
  • Web development or full stack experience (preferred)
