The Role: Senior Financial Analyst - Product Finance

The Location: New York, NY

The Team: The S&P Global Platts Finance team primarily consists of New York and London based employees. The Team also regularly interacts with divisions of S&P Global Corporate.

The Impact: This position will work along-side the Finance Director to ensure all monthly financial reporting and analysis is delivered timely and accurately to facilitate decision making by management.

Responsibilities:
Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the Product and Information Technology team

  • Partner with Product management team to prepare business cases for enhancements and new products
  • Assist in the preparation of the multi-year budgets and related sensitivity modeling
  • Manage financial planning and analysis and accounting
  • Manage project budgets and KPIs
Provide ongoing financial planning and analysis support to the Product and Information Technology team
  • Manage financial and operating metric tracking for key initiatives
  • Identify and track risks/opportunities on an ongoing basis
Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects for Platts senior finance leadership
  • Provide data and analysis during monthly close, estimate and annual budget processes.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested in order to help management make informed decisions regarding the short and long term objectives of the business.
  • Provide thorough and accurate deliverables to Senior Management and SPGI Corporate.

What We're Looking For:.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or related curriculum
  • 3-5 years' work experience in financial analysis, consulting and/or advisory and/or private accounting/finance department
  • Strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF functions, modeling) and PowerPoint, experience with ERP (Oracle Financials) and Cognos TM1 preferred Strong attention to detail and analytical ability with an inquisitive mind
  • Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
