Sr. Oracle Database Developer

Job Description:

GWB regulatory technology is looking for a senior developer with strong experience in analyzing, designing, developing, integrating, testing, implementing, supporting and documenting new and existing application software programs involving database technologies.
The candidates responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Gather and analyze requirements, design and develop software applications using database technologies and shell scripting.
  • Conduct code reviews of completed technical artifacts. Represent development team's interaction and plans during support of testing activities.
  • Must have good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Participate in unit, integration, and system test procedures. Document final program and develop user instructions, software/hardware requirements, program input / outputs and execution / installation steps.
  • Provide ongoing system support by maintaining and enhancing existing software applications. Handle multiple tasks and work on multiple projects.
  • Candidate must ensure that tasks are being completed in timely manner with limited direction. Defines and promotes development standards and mentors resources with less experience.
  • Document new and existing software applications. Develop and document tools to enhance application development and testing.
  • Interact with technology management. Provide periodic project progress status updates.

Required Skills :
  • BS or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle database, PL SQL, SQL, SQL Loader, Oracle XML DB, Database Performance Tuning, Indexes, Data Modeling
  • In-depth knowledge of Perl, Linux/Solaris, Shell Scripting
  • In-depth knowledge of Autosys or other job schedulers
  • Good understanding of RDF database
  • Good understanding of NoSQL database
  • Good understanding of Oracle Text
  • Good understanding of data warehousing technology and toolsets
  • Good understanding of ETL technology and toolset
  • Good understanding of Web Services, XML
  • Good understanding of Source control toolsets
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record to meet aggressive timelines
  • 8-10 years of hands on experience of application development

Desired Skills :
  • Exposure to J2EE technologies, Messaging, Rule engines, BPM products
  • Prior working experience with financial services industry
