Job Description:

The Sr. Technology Manager will lead design and engineering for the Global Wholesale Banking's Client Data management organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for systems design, technical architecture, code review, technical standards and delivery for the target state client / entity management platform. The right candidate will significantly evolve the capabilities of the organization and cultivate an environment of perpetual innovation and transformation in how we do business today. The complexity and criticality of this work requires an individual who brings application development & delivery experience, an understanding of technical trends and new innovation in the financial industry, technical expertise in digital/automation engineering, financial services business acumen and senior leadership, influence and execution skills to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive technology-based transformation for the client data management platforms.
  • Responsible for leading engineering discipline and innovation within an Agile development environment.
  • Lead design, development and delivery of the new target state platforms.
  • Serve as primary technology architect to the application development teams.
  • Manage a team of up to 50 contractors and potentially some permanent associates (including offshore flex resources)
  • Build a technical organization with engineering expertise and innovation
  • Understands client & business partner feedback and works strategically with technology partners to evolve enablement to create competitive advantage and improve client satisfaction in the marketplace.
  • Build relationships with key partners in a highly matrixed environment
  • Provide strong leadership to a geographically dispersed team.
  • Recruit, hire, retain and develop top talent within the function.
  • Drive the organization to achieve best-in-class capabilities, quality, and economics
  • Assess current state, desired capabilities and greatest opportunities for impact. Ensure the right short and long term decisions are made with focus on the strategic priorities of the Company
  • Proactively manage risk. Integrate fundamental Risk Management principles into all execution considerations

Required Qualifications / Skills:
  • 10-15 years of experience with application engineering preferably within the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture, big data and system design.
  • Seasoned technologist able to build and work in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to innovate and transform large mission critical applications.
  • Hands on experience in building enterprise solutions with Java/Scala/ SPARK, No SQL and Big Data technologies (preferably Hadoop).
  • Excellent partner & teammate to peers; can influence & resolve across organizational lines
  • Superb relationship management and communication skills and who can navigate the organization, challenges the status quo to transform the business and bring multiple stakeholders together to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Able to leverage input from SME's and to rapidly identify alternatives for things such as scope, design choices, resourcing alternatives, etc.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to assess key stakeholder perspectives and adapt style to navigate cultural diversity
  • Work history demonstrating a sense of personal accountability to drive execution from start to finish

Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in STEM and /or Management.
• Certifications in Agile SDLC - SAFe or Lean
