The Enterprise Computing Storage Operations Level 3 team is responsible for maintaining and protecting business data using a combination of the latest innovative technologies and operational tools.
The core function of the Enterprise Computing Storage Operations Level 3 team is to serve as the highest level of escalation for the Level 1 Command Center and Level 2 operational teams. Provide level 3 escalation & on-call support for in house developed software and 3rd party products for a large global distributed environment. Proactive health & hygiene tasks to maintain operational stability and compliance for risk & control programs to ensure the production environment is not put at risk. We collaborate with engineering teams to test and certify new hardware & software products and engage with clients to understand business demand, needs & support during outage scenarios.
Daily duties include operational support the firm's SAN, NAS, and Object Storage platforms. This includes monitoring, triaging, and resolving error conditions which impact production trading systems. Analyzing and deploying storage optimizations, scheduling breakfix work, and conducting root cause analysis is a key part of the role. Occasional weekend work as part of an oncall rotation and other duties as assigned.
Hands on experience and working knowledge of the following technologies, minimum 2:
- NetApp Ontap 7/8 and NetApp hardware
- Solaris and Linux Administration (Red-hat)
- Storage Array technologies and concepts
- Veritas Storage Foundation (VxVM)
- Fiber channel SAN switches and Fabric OS
- Scripting language (Perl, Python, Shell)
- knowledge of storage protocols: NFS, SMB, http/rest
