Position:           Research Economist

Location:         Dallas, TX

Duties:             Draw on analytical and original research skills, knowledge of computer platforms and statistical analysis packages to conduct original economic research relevant to the Banks goals and objectives in areas of energy, banking structure, monetary theory and policy, labor, or international trade and finance.  Provide information for advising senior management on national, international, and District policies.  Write articles, professional papers, and manuscripts on these specific topics for publication in top refereed academic journals and draw upon such research to provide informed policy advice and analysis.  Perform public speaking engagements and respond to inquiries from the community on issues related to original research. Write briefing documents, at the request of senior management and the Board of Directors, and assigned portions of the staff briefing material for the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on economic topics related to energy economics. Maintain a current knowledge of economic and business conditions and top-notch analytical skills by reading professional papers and periodicals, books, and other business and economic material.  Attend professional and business conferences and seminars; present research papers to peers in national and global forums.  Present seminars on research and policy findings to department economists.  Review and comment on papers and publications written by other economists in the Department.  Requirements: Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Economics.  Required skills and knowledge of tools and technology may be acquired through academic research work. 15% international and domestic travel required for speaking engagements and conference presentations.  Salary:  $116,800 $198,600/year.  Email resume to and reference #263225.
