Position Profile:

Weaver’s State and Local Tax team is looking for Income & Franchise Tax Experienced Associates and Senior Associates I or II to join their growing practice in their Dallas and Fort Worth offices.  This team member will p rovide tax compliance and consulting services specific to state and local taxes, including income and franchise tax.  Responsibilities vary by level.  The Income & Franchise Tax Senior Associates have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries.  They draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide compliance and consulting services to corporate clients.  Income & Franchise Tax Senior Associates identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.  Their primary responsibilities include working on various Income & Franchise tax returns, complex Income & Franchise tax audits, preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, including researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • CPA eligible, CPA or CMI desired; certification is required for advancement
  • 1-2 + years’ experience in public accounting or its equivalent; experience in preparing and reviewing client work papers, preparing income & franchise tax audit and refund schedules, preferably within Big 4 or an equivalent firm or industry; experience with corporate state and multi-state income tax returns and Texas Franchise Tax returns
