Our Client, a top tier financial services institution based in Plano, TX, is looking for an Oracle DBA to join the team. As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be a subject matter expert to provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate in design sessions with fellow programmers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
  • Review designs and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps
  • Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications
  • Document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules
  • Collaborate with fellow developers in design sessions ensuring that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation

Key Skillsets:

  • 7+ years of administration experience with Oracle 11g+ and development experience with PL/SQL
  • Previous hands on knowledge with Exadata and GoldenGate
  • Oracle 12c MT experience a plus
  • Exposure to and experience with the following additional technologies: Java, C#, Ruby and source control (git)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies including Kanban, Scrum and DevOps.
  • Experience with system design and architecture
  • Cloud experience preferred
  • Distributed data patterns in line with decoupled design patterns
  • Ability to learn and actively seek new skills and knowledge to keep up with the changing technology field
  • Ability to work with project cycles and manage rapid changes
  • Ability to think outside the box, adapt to circumstances, learn from co-workers, and share information and experiences
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation
  • Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, skills in dealing with a diverse population
  • The desire to make a difference, to grow and learn, and to take responsibility for generating solid products is a must
