Associate / Analyst, Successful European Mid-Cap Buyout Firm, Hamburg

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious young investment banker or strategy consultant with a top branded firm to join a well-established and highly successful mid-cap European private equity firm in their Hamburg office

Our client is a major European mid-cap private equity firm with a deep track record and an extremely strong reputation with both investors and entrepreneurs. The firm invests across Europe from a number of offices, including a strong team based in Hamburg, focused on the DACH region. The firm is looking to hire an Associate and an Analyst into their team. The new hires will support the senior investment professionals in all aspects of a transaction from deal origination, due diligence and execution to monitoring portfolio companies and exit. Both positions offer a great long term career path within the firm.


  • Work closely with the senior investment professionals in all aspects of a transaction from deal origination to execution and exit
  • Take responsibility for developing and screening investment opportunities, meeting and assessing management teams, and running major elements of the due diligence workstreams
  • Contribute to structuring and negotiating term sheets, contracts and preparing investment committee papers
  • Monitor portfolio investments, reporting on portfolio performance internally and attending meetings as board observer


  • Intellectual strength proven by excellent academic results
  • Preferred past experience would be Analyst training at a top tier investment bank or the private equity / corporate finance team of a leading consulting firm; you must have strong modelling and analytical skills. For the Analyst level hire our client will also consider graduate candidates with extensive internship experience in relevant fields
  • A true team-player who can interact well within small deal teams; mature and reliable, taking on responsibility and driving own workstreams forward actively
  • Leadership potential and a commitment to progress and grow the business, and to advance on a long-term career path
  • Native German speaker with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and fluency in English
