M&A Manager, Major Private Equity Backed Roll-Up of Veterinary Businesses, Germany

Our client is a fast-growing consolidator in the European healthcare market, backed by a major private equity firm. The company has recently expanded into the DACH region and is now looking for an experienced M&A Manager to further grow the local market through deal sourcing and execution, working with top management and the sponsor firm to build the business. The position offers a high level of autonomy and travel, plus the chance to participate in this success growth story

We are working with a fast-growing Scandinavian company, owned by one of the top private equity groups in Europe. The firm is acquiring and integrating a large number of veterinarian practices, and has recently moved into the German and Swiss markets. The management of the company now wishes to appoint an additional M&A Manager to lead origination and execution of further German, Swiss and Austrian deals, working within the DACH and wider European M&A team. The role could be based anywhere in the DACH region, but will require regular travel to both target companies and to the head office in Sweden. The position is ideal for an ambitious individual with a background in M&A, PE, banking or consulting, who has great people skills and wishes to join a major European success story.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As part of the DACH Expansion Team you will have primary responsibility for origination in the DACH region, building relationships with prospective target owners and developing acquisition offers
  • Undertake negotiations, due diligence and execution of individual deals, working alongside colleagues in group M&A and line management
  • Additionally, prepare appropriate material to support board decisions on individual deals and manage the vendor relationships closely during the acquisition process


YOUR PROFILE:

  • A strong transaction background with at least five years of relevant experience, possibly with private equity firms or family offices, or within a Big 4 M&A team, with great project management skills
  • The key to this position is people skills; you need to have the impact and credibility to win the trust of often unsophisticated vendors, and the humility and emotional intelligence to develop the relationship through negotiations and due diligence. You need a confident, energetic personality, with the ability to set your own goals and go to market effectively to build the deal pipeline
  • The role may be physically based anywhere within the DACH region, but you must be prepared for frequent travel to targets and to the head office in Sweden
  • Fluent English and native standard German language skills are required
