Bush Regenerators - Local Government

Location: Sydney Area (multiple positions; Western Sydney, Inner West and CBD)
Type: Contracts (lengths vary up to 12 months)
Pay: $36 - 45ph + super
Hours: 38 hours per week (7.6 hours per day)

About the Role
Charterhouse are partnered with multiple local councils across Sydney supporting with bush regeneration. We are on the lookout for Bush Regenerators to support with restoration of local bushlands, including weed control and ecologic restoration.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance of all bushland and wetland areas to agreed standards.
• Organise and assess work requirements to ensure the selection of the most appropriate tools, equipment and materials required to undertake the tasks
• Identify, report and take corrective actions to all hazards within the work area.
• Operate plant & equipment including brush cutters, chainsaws, mowers, etc.
• Report plant & equipment faults.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of works as required.
• Provide assistance and/or technical support to Bushcare or Community Volunteer groups when required.
• Collection of endemic seed for propagation.
• Carry out of revegetation and restoration planting / watering.
• Construction & maintenance of bushfire, bushland, etc. zones, tracks & trails, as required.
• Participate in Hazard Reduction activities, as required.
• Identification and management of weed infestations and sources
• Reporting & removal of rubbish, debris and / or other extraneous material found within Bushland areas.

About You

• Experience in bush regeneration, 1 year+
• Current knowledge and understanding of Bushland related issues, best practices and trends
• Certificate in Bushland Regeneration, Natural Area Restoration, Conservation and Land Management OR equivalent
• Drivers Licence
• ChemCert accreditation (or willing to obtain)
