This Business Finance Specialist role will provide oversight of the current control framework and assist with completion of reporting and regulatory requirements to support the Equities business.
In particular this role will focus on the following key areas:

  • Validation and Control: Provide accounting expertise to ensure the financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Disclosures) for the Equities Business, are complete, accurate and timely. Ensure the control environment is functioning appropriately and assist with escalating and remediating any gaps.
  • Business Solutions: Assist with the implementation of process improvement and change initiatives and ensures the effectiveness of relevant technology-systems to help meet the demands of both run-the-bank and change-the-bank activities.
  • Regulatory & Statutory Reporting: Ensure all group and local statutory and regulatory reporting inputs (inc. audit deliverables) are completed on a timely basis. Keep key stakeholders informed of progress and delays.
  • Business Support: To work with our business partners to ensure all standard performance reporting and commentary is complete and assist with ad-hoc requests where required.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Control Oversight:
  • Responsible for validation and control oversight of the Equities month end processes and controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of underlying data used in the Financial Statements and mitigate risks.
  • Provide support for cross business month end close activities as part of wider team involvement.
  • Regular engagement with our Manila support teams to ensure controls are adequately adhered to, provide ongoing and appropriate training, and drive effective prioritization and execution of deliverables.
    Regulatory & Statutory Oversight:
  • Provide appropriate review and analysis to ensure accurate delivery of group and local reporting requirements.
  • Deliver required inputs to support regulatory submissions on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Help prepare balance sheet and regulatory capital reports for the business, including appropriate commentary.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless approach to audits.
    Business Process Change:
  • Participate in Change the Bank (CTB) initiatives of the team as well as across Business Finance for CIB
  • Process re-engineering – continually questioning processes in an ever changing environment, striving for best of breed. In particular, work with our Manila colleagues to remove inefficiencies and tighten controls where appropriate.
    Role Requirements
    • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualifications.
    • Technically strong management-financial accountant
    • Previous experience in Finance
    • Equities knowledge-experience advantageous, but strong candidates from all product backgrounds encouraged
