A key focus is the establishment of a new Accountability Regime team, dedicated to delivering on the Government's planned extension of the Banking Executive Accountability Regime (BEAR) across all APRA regulated industries.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, the team will be responsible for assisting with APRA's implementation of the Executive Accountability Regime for all APRA-regulated entities, including APRA's engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver a credible and high-quality Regime.

Key duties:
  • Supporting APRA's engagement with ASIC in designing and implementing appropriate systems and processes to operationalise this dually-administered Regime
  • Contributing to the development of joint APRA-ASIC guidance to assist industry with the implementation of the Regime
  • Achieving cooperation and engagement across internal teams for the successful implementation and operationalisation of the Regime
  • Collaborating on horizontal reviews of accountability statements and maps across the industry divisions to ensure consistency and to identify and report systemic issues
  • Providing centralised support to internal and external stakeholders by addressing technical queries and by providing training/information sessions
Desired knowledge and experience:
  • The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience involving the implementation of regulatory driven projects within the banking, insurance or superannuation sectors. Prior experience in ADI implement of BEAR would be highly desirable.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior stakeholder. Exceptional analytical and research skills and a very high attention to detail.
