Greenfield start up role as a Risk and Compliance Manager. New Fintech in financial services.
Your new company
This company are a unique, new start-up Fintech in financial services offering an exciting new lending product in Australia. They are based in Sydney CBD and offer the chance to be part of something from the start in this greenfield role, within hybrid working environment.

Your new role
The Compliance & Operational Risk Manager will support the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, and wider Executive team, to embed risk management and compliance frameworks in a Fintech start-up .

• Implementing the Risk Management and Compliance Management Frameworks within a start-up environment. This will include working in a hands-on way across all categories of compliance and operational risk to:
○ Advise and assist business leaders in performing risk assessments
○ Develop a detailed compliance obligations register
○ Facilitate and assist with control design and testing
○ Manage incidents and breaches
○ Develop and prepare insightful reporting to Board and Executive
• Developing and implementing key policies and guidelines
• Assisting with vendor selection for, and driving implementation of, a Governance, Risk and Compliance system
• Acting as AML/CTF Officer and Privacy Officer (or delegate, depending on prior experience)
• Analysing and solving problems
• Taking on new challenges and learning opportunities in a supportive environment
• Collaborating with 1 st line colleagues across the organisation

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. Commerce, law, accounting or similar
• Prior experience in financial services risk and compliance, including development/maintenance of risk and obligation registers, control design and testing, incident management
• Self-starter; ability to thrive in a dynamic start-up environment and to take on new challenges; willingness to roll up the sleeves to "just do it"
• Analytical, enquiring, curious, challenging and continuous improvement mindset
