    Using your business acumen and technical knowhow, you will be coordinating our product owners, system owners and data SMEs to ensure the impact of an issue is pro-actively identified, fully understood and quantified. This will enable CBA to rectify or prevent any further and future impact. This role is a combination of active stakeholder engagement, influencing and in-depth analytical and process execution

    The Data & Decision Science team aspires to be the best analytics and decisioning team in the world at engaging customers by solving complex customer, product & channel problems through multi-channel strategies to deliver value for the Retail Bank.

    The Insights team supports RBS Consumer Finance and Everyday Banking through data driven analyses and insights to optimise business performance and improve customer outcomes. The team forms part of a broader Analytics team, which includes a Pricing and Modelling team.

    The Insights team delivers customer centric and commercially focused insights in a timely manner to aid in strategic decision making. The team proactively identifies opportunities, undertakes the financial impact analysis and makes recommendations to meet the strategic goals for the business. Finally, the team provides crucial reporting and self-serve capabilities to ensure the broader Consumer Finance teams can do independent analyses.

    Do work that matters

    Consumer Finance aims to run our processes and systems as smoothly and accurately as possible. Given the complexity of the business, there are occasions where they do not operate the way they are intended to. This role aims to pro-actively pick-up those instances the moment they happen and alert the business as soon as possible. The business can then rectify any system, process or customer implications. Basically, your role is to ensure the environment remains running smoothly and accurately by closely monitoring the data and fully understanding the business.

    You will work across the credit cards business to understand end-to-end system/business processes, implement controls/checks to ensure processes are executed correctly and finally set-up processes to rectify any exceptions or errors that occur. Through stakeholder management and continuous improvement you will drive results and demonstrate the contribution of your initiatives to the success of the business.

    More specifically:
    • Coordinate stakeholders (e.g. product/system owners, Data SMEs, Remediation SMEs) to build and execute processes that identify and resolve the impact of specific issues
    • Design and implement end-to-end controls and checks that allow the business to pro-actively identify any exceptions
    • Design, communicate & implement the analytics required to identify & quantify the consequence for the business/customers
    • Understand end-to-end system/business processes to effectively design and execute the controls/checks
    • Proactively identify and propose improvement opportunities across the team
    • Build-up effective working relationships, mainly with Product/System owners, Remediation and other Consumer Finance teams

    • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement skills
    • Solid technical and problem solving skills, business acumen
    • Solid ability to independently perform technical & business analyses and assess the accuracy and suitability of outcomes
    • Solid understanding of end-to-end process design
    • Team player with a positive outlook and a drive to challenge status-quo and drive better outcomes
    • Strong SQL skills
    • Retail banking & unsecured lending and remeditation knowledge is a plus
    • Risk Management experience is a plus
    • Big data skills in a plus
    • 3+ years' of experience in Data Analysis & Analytics
    • Tertiary qualification in either an Analytical/Technical discipline or a Business/Commerce Degree is preferred
