About WOFE

As a privately owned firm, we have the advantage of being able to take a long-term view when investing for our future. Our journey in China started in 2004 with the opening of our Shanghai office and over the years we have made significant inroads.

Our long-term ambition is to provide innovative investment solutions to Chinese institutional, wholesale, high net worth and pension investors. The focus of our China strategy is on assembling the key building blocks that will allow us to realise this goal. Years of commitment and building our presence in China have allowed us to make a head start in an exciting new development with the opening of the private fund management market to foreign asset managers through Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) entities. In anticipation of this opportunity in 2015 we established a WFOE in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and Fidelity International has obtained the approval to become the first global asset manager to register as a private fund management company in China.
