• To manage the liquidity of the bank in line with regulatory and management liquidity risk frameworks


Strategy and Plans

  • Act as the funding conduit of ADCB including management of relevant wholesale funding programmes
  • Responsible for the management of Treasury deposit and wholesale funding counterpart portfolios and strategically enlarging the existing base
  • Interface with business in helping guide pricing, hedging strategies for loans, deposits, wholesale funding and achieving relevant regulatory benchmarks with respect to liquidity management & capital solutions when called upon to do so
  • Design, achieve funding management strategy
  • Translate the strategy of Treasury into operational business plans for the short, medium and long term and ensure that performance is monitored, reported and delivered and necessary actions are taken to achieve the strategy and plans



  • Work with internal stakeholders to optimize bank wide  funding sources and enhance return to bank while taking a holistic view on the bank’s overall liquidity position
  • Be part of and animate bank wide initiatives for liquidity and all short term balance sheet items
  • Provide drive all private market DCM activities; provide support on all public market DCM activities; generate trade ideas for collateral optimization and liquidity portfolio
  • Responsible for global risk arising out of the desk’s activities (credit & market risk)
  • Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon

  • Regularly interact with all systemically important professional counterparts and when required, the Central Bank
  • Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions


People Management

  • Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
  • Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation

  • Identify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment


Policies, Processes , Systems & Procedures

  • Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation





  • At least 8-10 years of experience running funding & related activities within a bank in a senior role with management responsibilities



  • Post Graduate Degree in Finance


Knowledge and Skills

  • Risk management systems (For example: Murex; Bloomberg and Reuters)
  • Systems regulations and markets
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Data analysing skills
  • In depth knowledge of both Islamic and conventional funding and asset products
