French speaking Senior Legal Entity Accountant - Investment Bank - London

This role is based in London and sits within the EMEA Legal Entity Control function and will report to the Head of Legal Entity Control, and will be primarily responsible for leading the approach to external reporting and producing statutory accounts for the Bank's French Entity

This role will be involved in facing off to external auditors and managing the relationships, as well as liaising with legal entity control teams and other functions that contribute to the statutory accounts.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the external financial reporting for a range of legal entities, in line with rules and requirements of French GAAP
• Preparation and audit of annual financial statements, including supporting the external auditor relationship/activity, and engagement with key internal stakeholders (EMEA CFO, Audit Committee, legal entity boards)
• Provide support to key ad-hoc or project related initiatives including (but not limited to) Legal Entity strategy and development, Tax reporting, cost allocations and transfer pricing
• Monitor and develop the local control environment and associated close control to support accurate and timely external financial reporting
• Responsible for the adoption of Wdesk and ongoing maintenance of the EMEA statutory accounts
• Embed and drive adherence to applicable firmwide policies
• Responsible for considering upcoming external Financial Reporting requirements and how the company might adopt them e.g. Environmental, Social and Governance

Role Requirements: 

• ACA/ACCA qualified with 5+ years experience ideally 
• Statutory accounting experience including preparation and review
• Must be able to speak French and English to a professional level
• Banking experience is a must 
• Strong comprehension of French GAAP
• Previous experience with Wdesk is advantageous 
• Knowledge of Investment Banking products is desired
