The Global Quality team's mission is to ensure the development and manufacture of safe & compliant products that meet our customer's quality needs and expectations.

The Product Quality Team is responsible for defining Quality performance and compliance expectations and then driving Quality deliverables throughout the end to end product development process, acting as the single point of contact (SPC) for the Range teams.
The Engineers are assigned to specific sub-categories of products, and will work within a project team to deliver the best range of products within the given timescales.

Working closely with the Product Leads, Group Buyers, and Design Team, you will be the technical expert for Commodity, Supplier-developed, and co-developed Own Brand products, and will provide the performance and safety requirements for our Unique designed ranges."

Responsibilities

As the Product Quality Specification Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying the key Quality stakeholders at the start of a new project to update them on the project scope, and to work together to define the expected Quality timings and to update on progress. You will working with the Range Planners to ensure that the Quality timings are included in the overall project critical path and then providing regular updates on progress.

You will take information and reports from Customer Insights, Customer Reviews, and Returns information, you will need to translate this into technical requirements that can be assessed and compared through the benchmark process.

The Product Quality Specification Engineer main responsabilities are :
Developing testing protocols with the various Quality stakeholders, which assess all aspects that are Critical to the Quality of the products from the customer use and manufacturing, which can be used during the benchmarking and the qualification phases of the product development
Analysing all results and information collected to produce detailed technical specifications, working closely with the Quality teams in each Buying Office to ensure that they understand the requirements, and can accurately communicate them to suppliers
Supporting the Brand and Data teams with the development and approval of the Instruction Manuals, and the validation of technical data for Artwork and Selling data
You are also connecting with the Brand, Legal, and Product Services teams to help to define the terms & conditions of the guarantees, including details of exclusions and spare parts, as well as validating the duration based on the performance testing.

You will Work closely with the Group Buyers; you will produce the supporting documents and respond to suppliers technical queries as required during the tender process

You will be responsible for Assessment of the silver seal samples against the original specification, performing a "customer use" test to check that the assembly, installation, and initial use of the products meet the customer expectations, and completing a final product risk assessment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you should ideally have an engineering degree or equivalent, and experience of working in product development and product improvements. Although extensive knowledge and experience in materials such as wood, metal or plastics, or in a relevant product field, would be considered.

An insight into product development, specifications, testing methods, and legislation would be a distinct advantage.
You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical product differences to non-technical decision makers across an international, cross-functional organisation.

You will need to be highly self motivated with the ability to take the lead on your own work, as well as monitoring and communicating with internal and external stakeholders

In addition you will also need excellent IT and report writing skills, especially in MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint).

The role being international, we are looking for someone who is fluent in technical English, knowledge in French would be a distinct advantage.
